Hello! Our family of five is excited to grow through adoption again! We love playing board games, exploring the outdoors, and watching movies or college sports together. We also enjoy traveling, for fun, work, and mission trips. It’s important to us for our children to get opportunities to experience the wonderfully diverse world we live in, so we like to include our kids in our travels whenever possible.

Building our family through adoption has been an amazing journey. Adoption has been a part of our story for a long time and we’d love to open our hearts to you and your child. We hope to get to know more about you!

Our Story

We met over 12 years ago through mutual friends at church. Our first date at a coffee shop turned into hours of sharing about our hopes and dreams.  We talked about our hopes to adopt a child as early as our second date! Adoption has been on our hearts for a long time. After we had our first son, we adopted our daughter internationally. We had our youngest son around the same time, so we became parents to three under 3 years in a short time frame. It's been so fun! Becoming parents has truly been a blessing and we’d love to continue growing our family through adoption.

As a couple, we value a strong marriage because it helps us best work as a team and raise our children well. Sometimes we enjoy an overnight trip to the mountains or the beach, just us, to reconnect and invest in our relationship. We like going on nature walks or hikes, seeing new places, or having quiet time together. Every once in a while, we also love to be adventurous, like riding a roller coaster or trying sky diving!

About Colby

According to Stacey: The best word to describe Colby is "fun"! You will often find him playing and laughing with the kids and creating activities and games for them. Colby is a restaurant owner and loves providing and sharing a meal with other people. In his spare time, he loves to bike and work in his shop and in the yard. He is a wonderful handyman and enjoys giving things a new life through fixing and creating. He also loves to teach our boys along the way and cheer on our daughter at her dance practices and recitals. He was raised with an amazing work ethic that he passes along to our family and children every day. As our children grow, he looks forward to camping and fishing trips and future daddy-daughter dances with our daughter. Colby especially looks forward to playing and having fun with our next child, and also to raise our next child with strong morals and great character.

About Stacey

According to Colby: The best word to describe Stacey is "organizer".  She is the planner of the family, manages the family schedule, plans family trips and experiences, drives the kids to and from school and activities, and organizes our finances. Stacey is an engineer who is currently taking time from that profession to raise our children and to help with our family restaurant business. She loves volunteering at our kids' school and in the community, and models for our children the importance of serving others. She regularly teaches in our kids' program at church. In her spare time, Stacey enjoys running, exercising, and investing in women and families through Bible studies and financial coaching, which are some of her favorite volunteer opportunities. You also might find her curled up with a good book and a cup of coffee. She loves to learn and read, and looks forward to passing those values on to our children. Stacey loves being a mom, and enjoys creating memorable moments through crafts, story time, and planning activities. She cannot wait for our next child to join the family to love, cuddle, and teach responsibility and fun!

Family Life

We have 3 wonderful children! Myra and Bryson are 8 years old, and Ayden is 7 years old. They have a great bond as siblings and watch out for each other. All of them are excited about having another brother or sister in the family. Myra is into dancing, singing, reading, and anything that sparkles. Bryson and Ayden love playing sports, getting dirty outside, and puzzles or Legos. Our children go to a private Christian school and are involved in dance, baseball, soccer, and other activities with our church or community.

As a family we enjoy:

  • Camping & hiking

  • Bike rides

  • Swimming

  • Going to the playground or splashpad

  • Watching or playing sports

  • Barbecuing at home with friends

  • Traveling to see extended family

  • Visiting theme parks and indoor waterparks

Our Home in Connecticut

We live in a quaint little town on a cul-de-sac where our children play safely in our yard and ride bikes along the street. We are a day trip to the mountains or the beach! Our home is on 1.25 acres, lined with woods and a playground for our children to explore. We also have a large playroom inside our home, filled with toys and space for children to run around. We already have a bedroom waiting and ready to welcome our next child. Our home is our family sanctuary, a place where we come together as a family, share meals, play and pray together, and just spend time together. We love playing games and building puzzles together. We want our home to always be a truly safe and welcoming place for all, a place away from the world's distractions, and a place we can find peace and restoration.

Our Promise to You

We promise to provide a stable and loving home for your child. We believe a loving and structured home, flowing with opportunities for learning and fun, is the best environment for children to thrive. We will strive to raise your child with a strong spiritual foundation, all the while identifying, developing, and growing your child's gifts and talents, so they can become the person God has created them to be. Thank you for considering our family. We are open to sharing letters, pictures, and occasional visits with you at your comfort level.

If you would like to learn more about us, please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

With love,
Colby and Stacey

More About Our Family

Our Traditions

-Creating family photo books for each of our children every year (when they turn 18 they’ll get one for every year of their life!)
-Annual family vacations
-Weekly church attendance
-Sunday dinners at home
-Regular movie nights with popcorn

Our Faith

We are a Christian family who believes in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. This truth impacts every area of our life. We believe it is important to teach a firm faith foundation to each of our children.

Adoption in our Family

Myra was adopted from Bulgaria and while we do not know a lot about her biological family overseas, we are a part of a community of other families here who also adopted children from Bulgaria. It’s been important to us to learn about and keep cultural traditions that honor Myra’s background. We talk about her heritage and are open with her, and our boys, about our family’s adoption story. If we ever get a chance to find information about Myra’s birth family, we’d welcome the opportunity to fly back to Bulgaria! Our experience with adoption has made us ready to embrace an open adoption with our future child’s birth mother or family too. We want each of our children to know their stories and how special their journey into our family was to all of us.

Our Extended Family

We have extended family in Pennsylvania, Florida, and Arkansas. Our family vacations each year are often to visit family, as spending time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins are important to us. Both sets of grandparents are active in the lives of our children, both near and far. We have a group text where we regularly share photos and updates with our family. Our extended family is excited to welcome another child to love on, pray for, and spoil with their love, attention, and gifts. We are very family oriented and believe strong family ties are essential for our kids!

In Closing

Thank you so much for considering our family for your child. We look forward to meeting you, discussing your comfort level when it comes to contact, and learning more about your hopes and dreams for the future. We are excited to see what the Lord has planned in your life, our lives, and the life of your precious child.
