We are Abe and Judy, a couple that loves doing life together. We are honored to tell you a little about us and what a blessing adoption would be for our family. Going through the challenge of infertility has given us clarity that God's plan for us to have the family we’ve always desired will come through adoption, and that is exciting for us!

We would love to get to know you and your child through this process. We’re open to an ongoing connection should you choose us as your baby’s parents. Looking forward to hearing from you.

About Us

We met at a youth gathering in 2006 and started dating just a few weeks later. We were married in the fall of 2008. From the beginning, we were both excited to start our family but as the months turned into years of infertility, we felt God leading us toward adoption, a journey we are truly grateful and excited to be on.

Some of our favorite things to do together are:

  • attending weekly couples Bible study
  • going for evening walks
  • doing puzzles
  • spending time with family and friends
  • camping by the lake
  • fishing
  • listening to Christian music and podcasts
  • sorting and packing shoeboxes with Samaritan’s Purse (Operation Christmas Child)

  • About Judy

  • plans to be a stay-at-home mom
  • runs her own sewing business selling reusable products
  • loves to grow a huge garden and lots of flowers
  • attracting hummingbirds to our yard brings her so much joy
  • loves to cook from scratch, regularly trying new recipes
  • makes birthdays in the family special by making the cakes/treats
  • enjoys riding with Abe in the semi-truck
  • her ladies Bible study is the highlight of her week
  • makes some of her own dresses
  • has a bunch of house plants

Judy is excited to be a mother--taking care of our child, reading to them, playing outside, doing crafts and just getting to know their unique character!

  • About Abe

  • friendly and will strike up a conversation with anyone he meets
  • can fix almost anything
  • owner of a trucking business that hauls hay for the local farmers in the area
  • loves going to Top Golf with his friends
  • enjoys fishing at our nearby lakes
  • loves talking about the Bible to family and friends
  • enjoys doing mission work (he has helped build tiny homes for people in need, hauled bales of hay to farmers who lost everything in wildfires, and helped with clean-up after flooding)

Abe can't wait to be a dad--learning what our child's interests are, taking him/her camping, fishing, hiking and enjoying the outdoors together!

  • Our Family

Family time is super important to us, and we look forward to spending our days loving our child, playing at our local parks, going to the zoo, teaching him/her about Jesus, and reading books (we already have some adoption books for children on our shelf to help them understand/know how much they are loved by many).

Monthly extended family gatherings are a must around here! Judy has 5 brothers, 4 of which are married, and has the most amazing sisters-in-law who she loves spending time with. Her brother and his wife are expecting their first baby, of which everyone is excited for! We enjoy playing cornhole when it’s nice outside, making iced coffees and having lots of good food. The guys have recently started going golfing and are having a blast with that. Abe has 3 sisters and 1 brother whom we only see a few times a year because of distance, but when we’re together we have fun playing with the nieces and nephews coloring, playing games and crafts, and we always enjoy homemade potato and sausage soup with fresh baked bread.

All our family is looking forward to welcoming and loving on our future child!

Adoption in our family: Our family is touched by adoption in a special way. Abe’s sister placed a child for adoption when she was younger. Through her experience, we’ve learned and grown a unique understanding of adoption and what it could mean to share a connection with our future child's birth family.

    Our Home in Kansas

Our 5-bedroom home sits just outside of a small town out in the country with a huge basement where there’s lots of room to run and play. Our nursery is almost finished, and we have the main essentials ready for the baby.

We have about 5 acres of land, so there’s lots of room outside to make plenty of memories. There’s a fenced-in backyard with a swing set and basketball court. We have a big garden (that Abe built) where we’ll be spending lots of time making memories and teaching our children about growing vegetables/flowers.

There’s a fishing pond within a mile of our home that has a nature walking trail perfect for riding bikes, as well as a nice children’s playground where we will spend lots of time having fun with our child. We also have a great library, a theater, and a cute old-fashion ice cream shop in town.

    Our Promise

Your child will always know how deeply they are loved. We are committed to providing a safe, stable, and nurturing home where they can grow, learn and thrive. Our entire family is excited and ready to welcome this child with open arms and give them every opportunity to flourish. As parents we are passionate about helping our child discover their unique gifts, pursue their interests, and reach their fullest potential.

    We promise to:

  • encourage learning and support their dreams and future goals
  • lead by example in our faith, loving God, and loving others
  • respect and honor the relationship you desire with us, sharing updates and staying connected in whatever way feels comfortable for you
  • speak openly about their adoption story from the very beginning, making sure your child always understands how loved they are
  • teach your child 2 languages--we both speak Low German and English, and are excited to teach them both to our children

We believe open adoption is a beautiful way to grow a family, and we are truly grateful to be considered as adoptive parents. We would love the opportunity to connect and talk with you, or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

    More About Our Family

    Our Values

-Loving Jesus first! Our faith is the center of our lives, and we hope to raise our child to love Jesus and know God's calling for his/her life.
-A healthy lifestyle--we enjoy cooking nourishing meals at home from scratch, eating wholesome foods, and caring for our bodies with good supplements and healthy habits.
-Holistic living--we value caring for our mind, body, and spirit through natural living and creating a peaceful home.
-Quality family time--spending meaningful time together talking, laughing, and sharing meals is something we truly cherish.
-Strong education--we value learning and want to provide our child with an education that encourages curiosity, growth, and confidence.

    Our Faith

Our faith in Jesus is the foundation of our lives and our family. It shapes the way we love, the way we serve others, and the way we make decisions each day. We believe that following Jesus calls us to live with kindness, humility, and compassion and we strive to reflect those values in our home and relationships. Faith in Jesus gives us a deep sense of hope and purpose through every season of life, both the joyful moments and in the challenging ones; we trust that God is guiding our path and has the best plan for us! Prayer, worship, Bible reading, and strong Godly friends help us stay grounded and remind us to lean on Him in every situation. We desire to raise our child to know they are deeply loved by God, teaching him/her about Jesus, praying with them, helping them grow in faith as they discover their own relationship with Him. Ultimately our faith is about love, knowing we are loved by Him. He has adopted us as His children (Ephesians 1:4-5).

    Typical Weekend With Us

A typical weekend for us starts with slowing down and spending time together. On Sunday mornings we head to church, where our faith is strengthened and we connect with our church family. Afterward we often enjoy a relaxed afternoon sometimes sharing a meal or visiting with close friends. About once a month we gather with our extended family, spending time catching up laughing and making memories together. Weekends for us are a meaningful mix of faith, community, and time with the people we love most.

    Plans For Our Child's Education

As a young girl Judy dreamed of being a teacher. She and her brothers would play school any chance they got, and she would be the teacher. They made some fun memories. We will create a home where learning is part of everyday life, and that’s why we hope to homeschool our future child. We love the idea of nurturing curiosity, exploring interests, and shaping learning around our child’s unique gifts and pace. Homeschooling will allow us to spend meaningful time together reading great books, learning through hands-on experiences, exploring nature, and growing in faith as a family. Our hope is to raise a child who loves learning, asks thoughtful questions, and feels supported every step of the way.

    In Closing

Having been just the 2 of us for 17 years this is a very exciting time for us! We believe open adoption can be a beautiful way to grow a family, and we are truly grateful to be considered as adoptive parents. We would love the opportunity to connect and talk with you. We are open to whatever level of contact seems best for you and the child, phone calls, letters, and/or photos. We look forward to connecting with you!
