https://vimeo.com/1159422279Hello! We are Bryce and Allayna, both teachers in Pennsylvania who value family, friends, and our faith. We live in a small town and enjoy the community surrounding us. Becoming parents has been a dream of ours and we cannot wait for that to become reality through adoption! We would be honored to meet you and learn more about your desires for your child. We hope to talk to you soon!
About Us
Since we have been together, we have talked about life with children. We started dating in 2020 after meeting at college, and having kids has always been a strong desire in our marriage. We always discussed the hope of having both biological and adopted children. After facing infertility for 2 years, we decided this was a great time to start the adoption process, and we are so thankful to be on this journey!
Some of our favorite activities to do together are playing games, taking our dog for walks, playing sports, and spending time with friends and family. We truly believe that having children will be the greatest joy and fulfillment of our purpose in life. We look forward to making memories as a family after our first baby arrives.
About Allayna
Bryce says: Allayna has a joyful spirit and a childlike heart that brings light to everyone around her. She is pure, genuine, and kind. She shows her love through acts of service, is hardworking, and puts the needs of others before her own. This selflessness will make her a deeply loving and attentive mother.
As a preschool special education teacher, she has a special heart for children and a natural ability to meet them with patience, compassion, and understanding. It is clear that nurturing young lives is more than a career for her—it’s a calling. Outside of work, she enjoys working out, cooking and baking new recipes, trying new coffee shops, reading, and relaxing while watching her favorite show, Friends.
Allayna looks forward to making many family memories with our child in everyday life! She always tries to find joy in the mundane of life and make the ordinary times of life fun!
About Bryce
Allayna says: Bryce is a gentle, patient, kind, and servant-hearted man. He prioritizes his family and selflessly gives his time and energy to others. Bryce is a Middle School Math Teacher. He enjoys the relationship-building aspect of his job and the opportunity to impact adolescents. Bryce’s favorite hobbies and interests are:
Bryce looks forward to teaching our baby what it means to be loved and cherished. He can’t wait to teach his child how to play sports and share some of his interests with our child, such as Chelsea (professional soccer team), the Philadelphia Sixers (professional basketball team), and watching movies!
Our Family
Our families are extremely supportive of our marriage and our decision to adopt, and they are so excited to welcome their first grandchild into the family through adoption! Our parents have discussed making retirement adjustments and adjustments to their work schedules so that they are able to visit more often, or even move closer to provide regular childcare. Our child will be so loved by our family!
Allayna has 3 siblings and Bryce has 1 sibling. We see both our families about once every 1-2 months. Most of Allayna's family lives 1.5 hours away in Ohio and Bryce's family lives 3.5 hours away in central PA. When we get together with our families, we usually play games, eat good meals, and sometimes watch a movie. With Allayna's family, we usually play/watch sports together. With Bryce's family, we spend more time in nature, going for walks or hikes.
We also have dog named Chopper who is extremely friendly and affectionate! He loves to cuddle on the couch and be with people. He loves people of all ages, including kids.
Our Home in Pennsylvania
We live in a 5-bedroom home in a small town in western PA. Our home was newly renovated when we bought it over 2 years ago and does not require much time for maintenance. This aspect drew us to this house, so that we could have more time to invest in each other and friends and family, rather than putting time into our property. We also felt that this house was a great family home, with a good amount of space for children.
We have a small, fenced-in yard with a park down the street. We also have two other parks within walking distance of our house. We hope to spend a lot of time at these parks with our future child(ren), especially when we are off work during the summers! There is a nice biking/walking trail within walking distance as well. The elementary and middle schools of the district we live in are a 5-minute drive away, and the high school is a 2-minute drive away. We love our community and enjoy being able to have a 10-minute walk to our church. We have multiple young adult friends who have young children that we love to spend time with.
Our Promise
We promise to raise your child in a loving home where they can know and feel that they are cherished. When we got married, we vowed to never leave each other, and this holds true today. We believe that a stable home with parents who love each other is extremely important for a child’s development and mental health. We plan to raise your child in the Christian faith, where they will participate in our local church. We plan to enroll your child in public education, and we are happy with the quality of the school district where we live. We will also begin to invest in a 529 for your child soon after they arrive in our home, to support their continued education, in the event that they decide to further their education after high school.
We promise to raise your child with humility, respect, and love, helping them understand their value in this world. We also promise to always talk with your child about their adoption story with joy, love, and gratitude. It would be a blessing to meet you and answer any questions you may have about our family as you decide what you are looking for in an adoptive family. More About Our Family
Why We Are Adopting
Allayna has wanted to adopt a child for as long as she can remember. When she was 17 years old, two of her cousins were adopted from Latvia, which solidified her desire even more. Her goal was to have both biological and adopted children, God willing. Before we were married, we discussed our dream of adoption, and this quickly became just as much a desire of Bryce's also. As God's children, we believe God has adopted us into His family, and we feel honored to share that gift. After facing infertility for 2 years, we feel that the door towards adoption has opened, and we are so excited to begin this journey!
Our Past Jobs
We both have the joy of working with children every day at our current jobs as teachers. We have also had many experiences teaching children in past jobs. Allayna was a nanny and a childcare teacher throughout high school and college. She also worked at Dunkin Donuts and as a waitress at a nursing home. In high school, Bryce worked at a farm and lifeguarded. In college, he worked at a daycare, primarily with the preschoolers. While we have been waiting to be parents, we have spent our summer breaks as teachers babysitting for two different families in our town. We have loved our different experiences with kids and believe that all children are a true gift and blessing!
Family Traditions
We are excited to make our own traditions as a family once we welcome our first child through adoption! Our families have fun traditions in place currently. Every year around Christmas time, Allayna's dad organizes the making of a family "movie." The movies are always so funny, and it is a great way to bond as a family. We love laughing together! Allayna's family also makes a yearly Christmas card that is not a traditional Christmas card. Each year is a different theme and they are very creative. All of our friends and family look forward to seeing our family Christmas card! Bryce's family makes sticky buns every morning when we celebrate Christmas together. Bryce's family also has a lake house in Canada where we love to visit during our summer breaks as teachers, and we are excited to share this vacation spot with our child!
Our Values
Our value of highest priority is our faith. We have been saved by Jesus and we desire to raise our child to know this gift and joy. We also value health, including physical, mental, and emotional. Allayna enjoys cooking healthy, nutritious meals. We also value living an active lifestyle. Allayna battled an eating disorder in high school and is committed to raising our child(ren) to not have similar struggles. We want to value physical health without making it an obsession. We believe that being healthy mentally is just as important as physically. We will prioritize our child's mental health to help them live their life to the fullest. As teachers, we value our child(ren) getting a rigorous education to help enhance their God-given gifts. We also value managing our finances wisely to be able to support our family and be generous towards others. Lastly, family is another major value of ours, and we are excited to begin family traditions and invest in strong family relationships.
In Closing
Adoption has always been a desire of ours and we are going to unconditionally love the child who will join our family. We are committed to raise our child to love others and find confidence in their identity as a child of God. We are excited to bring our child into some of our favorite activities, like going for walks with our dog, playing card and board games, and engaging in sports. We are open to whatever level of contact seems to be best for you and the child, including in-person visits, phone calls, letters, and/or photos! We look forward to connecting with you!
