Watch Our Video
https://vimeo.com/853805656Greetings! The Lord has provided you and us with a great opportunity to bless a child together. You are bringing a special being into this world, and we look forward to providing the love, care, and support to raise them. We are a spirit-filled couple who love life, enjoy the world, and work to make it a better place for others. Family is a crucial part of our lives, and we welcome your child in with open arms. We look forward to seeing your child grow to chase their dreams. We are open to any level of contact you are comfortable with.
About Us
We have been married for 6 years and are excited to grow our family through adoption. We are both strong Christians, active in our church, and both volunteer in the children's ministry. We lead a small group Bible Study with several couples and have made Jesus the foundation of our lives and marriage. Together, we love to travel and explore new places. We do many road trips throughout the year and take a few bigger trips every year, too. We love to hike, be outdoors, and visit zoos. Also, we've recently gotten more into camping (Doug was a Boy Scout growing up, which helps). We are both foodies and have explored many restaurants and dishes. Sports have been a big part of our lives, and we both enjoy watching events and going to games. We relax by watching movies, playing card and board games, or sitting around the fire pit making s'mores. We are thrilled to share our lives and adventures with your child.
Karen (by Doug)
Karen is a caring person and a faith-filled believer. She is smart, strong and handles difficulties in life with grace and poise. She currently works as a physical therapist but looks forward to raising our children when she becomes a stay-at-home mom. Karen is adventurous and really enjoys traveling the world and will help your child see a larger world perspective. Your child will have a mother who goes out of her way to provide the best care possible, showing them how to work hard, take care of others and still stop and have fun. She loves children and volunteers with toddlers at our church. The nieces, nephews and godchildren rely on Karen for her leadership as much as her love. Karen is going to be a wonderful mother who looks forward to sharing her love of reading, Winnie the Pooh, and baking Christmas cookies.
Doug (by Karen)
I am blessed to have Doug as my husband. He is smart, loving, kind, dedicated, and always encouraging to everyone he meets. He lives his life centered around his Christian faith and has helped me to grow mine. He works in IT and is a great provider for our family. Doug is a sports enthusiast and loves to watch and attend games. He enjoys playing video and board games with our friends and family. He loves a good challenge, going on new adventures and trying new food. Doug has a big heart for children and loves playing with our nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He is always the first one they run to. He also volunteers in our Kids club at church and has already perfected his "Dad jokes". I know he will be an amazing father and looks forward to sharing his love and talents with your child.
Our Family
Family is very important to us, and we both have large extended families who are also excited to be part of our child's life. We both grew up in close-knit families and stay in contact with them, and large family events are quite common. Your child will get to know many loving aunts and uncles and have numerous cousins to play and grow up with.
Karen's family is mostly local, her parents live a few miles away. We see them often and enjoy spending time with them. We do family trips to the zoo, have game nights, and make sure to celebrate each other's special days and events.
Doug's family lives further away but is still elated and always looks forward to when we can all get together; we have a couple of big family events every year. In the summer, we have our annual family reunion at the family lake cabin. We have a family bowling tournament and then spend time enjoying great food and games, playing on the lake, and enjoying all the cabin has to offer. Every December, we gather for a giant family Christmas party, including a pot-luck dinner and a huge gift exchange. Two of Doug's cousins have also adopted, so everyone is familiar with welcoming children in and making them part of the family.
Our Home in Ohio
We live in Southwest Ohio, a great area to raise children. We have a two-story, three-bedroom brick home with plenty of space for everyone. We have both done a lot of work to improve the house and make it the great home it is. Doug has remodeled multiple rooms with help from family and friends, updating the house with better amenities, while Karen has added a great decorative touch and has really improved the landscape with her gardening skills. We live close to multiple parks, bike trails, and a community pool. Larger attractions include a zoo, an aquarium, and amusement parks that we enjoy and look forward to sharing with our child.
Our Promise
First and foremost, we promise to raise your child in a relationship with God and to make sure that they experience how much God loves and cares for them. Know that they will feel our home's abundance of love, laughter, joy, warmth, kindness, support, and encouragement. We will provide them with the education, environment and support they need to discover their dreams and talents. We promise to give them all our love.
Together, we are part of God's purpose for this child, and we all play an important role. We promise you that your child will know his/her adoption story and how thankful we are for you and God connecting us. We want to build a relationship with our birth family that works for everyone involved and is based on mutual respect, compassion, and support.
We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

Our Faith
We are strong Christians who have grown our faith over the years. We study and grow our faith in multiple ways and have strong spiritual mentors to guide us and provide insight. We are active members of our church where we volunteer and enjoy many friendships. We lead a Bible study for couples in our community and have a heart for other families. Through church we've led a group at a couple's camp retreat. Our faith is an important part of our lives and guides us through life.
Our Vacations
Travel has always been a big part of both of our lives. In fact, Doug struggled picking a surprise honeymoon location because they had both been to so many destinations already. Together we make getting away an important part of our lives. We head out to a large number of places from the beach to the mountains to family get aways.
Some of our favorite destinations so far:
* Denver, Colorado
* Charleston, SC
* Puerta Vallarta, Mexico
Some of our future destinations:
* Hawaii
* Glacier National Park
* Dallas, TX
A Typical Weekend with Us
Our weekends tend to be a mix of fun/relaxation and being productive around the house. We typically spend Friday night as a date night with just the two of us to relax and reconnect. This may include going out to dinner, hitting up a festival or sporting event, or just doing take out and a movie on the couch. Saturday is usually spent working on projects around the house, both inside and out, running errands, and getting the weekly chores done. Our reward for being productive during the day is getting together with family or friends for the evening. Sunday morning is spent at church attending service and volunteering in the children's ministry. We tend to be flexible with the remainder of our weekend time.
In Closing
Thank you for your time and consideration. We are excited about adopting and know God has called us to be parents. The opportunity to bless children, guide them in this life journey, and see that they are properly educated is not a responsibility we take lightly. We want you to see that your trust in us is well placed through open communication. We pray you find the right family for your child, and we hope you believe it is us.
