https://vimeo.com/1140950020Hi! We’re Ethan and Kayla — a fun-loving, faith-filled couple who can usually be found enjoying the outdoors, grabbing coffee downtown, or spending time with family and friends. We’ve been married for seven wonderful years and together for ten, and we truly are each other’s best friend.
Our days are filled with laughter, adventure, and a deep love for the simple things — bonfires in the backyard, weekend hikes, and cozy movie nights at home. We’ve always dreamed of growing our family and we are trusting God to write that story through adoption. Although we consider ourselves parents to our three heavenly babies, the thought of becoming earthly parents fills our hearts with so much excitement and joy — we can’t wait to share life’s little moments with a child, from bedtime stories and family traditions to helping them grow in faith and love.
We also want you to know that we would love the chance to get to know you — to listen, learn what matters most to you, and walk this journey alongside you with grace and respect.
About Us
Our story began at a Christian college. One evening, they hosted a fun “date auction” fundraiser to support a local nonprofit. Kayla attended just for entertainment, never imagining anything would come of it. Ethan happened to be one of the participants, paired with a coffee shop gift card for a first date. On a whim, Kayla placed a bid — and won! That coffee date turned into something truly special, and the rest is history. Through the most random turn of events, God began writing a story we could never have planned ourselves.
We love spending time together and especially enjoy being outdoors. Though we’re homebodies at heart, we love a good date night or a day exploring the city. We live in a quiet, more rural area just 30 minutes from a major city, which gives us the best of both worlds. Trying new restaurants, visiting local breweries, and finding cozy coffee shops are some of our favorite things to do together. A smaller downtown area is just minutes away and has amazing coffee, a fun farmer’s market, and community events throughout the year. When time allows, we enjoy traveling and booking weekend getaways to unwind and reconnect. Whether it’s a movie night at home, a game night with friends, or a day spent exploring, we simply love doing life together. We truly are each other’s person — and we can’t wait to grow our love into a bigger family.
Meet Kayla
According to Ethan: Kayla has one of the kindest, most genuine hearts I’ve ever known. Her compassion touches everyone around her. She’s passionate, loyal, and never afraid to speak up for what she believes in. Through every trial, her faith in Christ has remained unshakable, and her hope has inspired me more than words can say. She’s my best friend, my constant encourager, and the light of our home.
Kayla works from home for a nonprofit ministry that equips and trains pro-life pregnancy centers across the country. She has a passion for protecting unborn lives while supporting mothers and fathers in need. She loves that her job allows her to do meaningful work she feels called to, while also enjoying the flexibility of being home.
She finds joy in gardening, baking, long walks at the park, playing frisbee with our dog, Rue, and leading worship at church. She has a playful side that I love — she laughs easily, loves a good coffee date, and finds joy in life’s simple moments.
Kayla looks forward to teaching our future children how to bake and cook, garden, and create through painting and crafts — always finding wonder in the little moments. I can already picture her singing lullabies in the nursery or reading storybooks under a cozy blanket fort. Kayla’s deepest desire has always been to be a mom.
Meet Ethan
According to Kayla: Ethan is an incredible husband and Godly leader — my steady rock through every season of joy and sorrow. Through the loss of our babies and years of infertility, he’s shown such grace and tenderness, never rushing my heart and always reminding me of my worth in Christ. He’s the reason our family stands on such solid ground.
What I love most about Ethan is his joyful spirit. He has a way of finding light in every situation and never takes life too seriously. Everyone who meets him instantly feels at ease — it’s impossible not to love him. He's genuine, humble, and full of kindness.
With a sharp mind for finances and a heart determined to steward well, he works hard to build a strong foundation for our family's future. He owns and runs his own landscaping business and takes great pride in his work. Whether he’s doing yard work out back, camping by a fire, or fishing at the river, Ethan is happiest outdoors. He also loves leading worship at our church and playing in volleyball tournaments.
Watching him with our nephews gives me a glimpse of the incredible father he’ll be — patient, playful, and full of love. Ethan can't wait to share his passions, his faith, and his love for the outdoors with our future children. I can already see him teaching them about Jesus, showing them how to work hard, and maybe even passing along a few guitar chords or volleyball tips. I know, without a doubt, that he will be the most loving and joy-filled dad.
Our Family
Our family includes us and our sweet dog, Rue — and our babies in heaven, who remain an important part of our family. Rue is an Australian Shepherd, and she adores children! Whenever we host families for dinners or bonfires, she’s right in the middle of the fun.
We’re blessed with a loving support system of family and friends who have been with us through every loss and now share our excitement for adoption. Though adoption is new to our families, both sides have been incredibly supportive. Kayla’s family even traveled to help paint and set up the nursery — a true reflection of how loved this child already is.
Ethan’s family lives nearby, with his parents just 15 minutes away and eager to help. They already make the best grandparents to our three nephews. Ethan also has two brothers, and his extended family live in the area. Kayla’s parents and twin sister live in New Jersey, but we stay closely connected through regular visits, phone calls, and video chats. We make it a priority to spend holidays together and plan trips every few months. Her parents are so excited to become grandparents. Kayla's extended family lives in several different states, yet they all remain close and supportive.
Our Home in Pennsylvania
We love our home simply because it’s ours! Our ranch-style house has three bedrooms plus a fully finished basement that’s perfect for playtime, family gatherings, or extra living space. We specifically chose our house for Ethan’s landscaping business. Our property sits on one acre with woods in the back and a smaller lot off to the side that is designated for the business. The rest of the backyard is just for fun! With plenty of space to run and play, it’s where we spend most of our days outside with our dog, tossing frisbees and enjoying the fresh air. We have friendly neighbors nearby, and the fence and tree line on each side of our property give us both privacy and peace of mind.
Our little home sits in a sweet spot — just 15 minutes from a river where we float and play frisbee with our dog, and within half an hour of bigger city attractions. One of our favorite things to do is walk at the local park, just a few minutes away, which features a beautiful pond along the walking path. Museums and children's activity centers are within 30 minutes, schools are right down the road, and there are local farms nearby where families can feed and pet animals.
Our nursery is ready and waiting — it’s by far our favorite little room of the house! After four long years of dreaming and waiting, this room is finally a hopeful place as we wait for the child or children God has for us.
Our Promise
We can only imagine what it takes to consider adoption for your child. We know your decision comes from a place of deep love. We have the utmost respect for you. We are praying that you feel peace, comfort, and clarity as you make this choice for your child’s future.
If we are blessed to adopt your child, we promise to love them unconditionally, to nurture and protect them, and to help them grow into the person God created them to be. They will always know that they are deeply wanted, prayed for, and loved — by both you and us. We promise to include you as a part of their story, and if the biological father chooses to be involved, we would love to include him too. We promise your child will grow up knowing their story, and you will always be spoken of with respect, gratitude, and honor.
Through open adoption, we hope to build a connection that allows your child to know where they came from, and to see the beauty of the love that brought us together. We promise to keep the lines of communication open, in the ways we all agree are best. Whether through letters, photos, texts, video calls, or occasional visits, we will ensure your child knows you and your love for them.
Above all, we promise to cover you and your child in prayer. We trust that God’s hand is in this story and that He will use it for something beautiful.
We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family
Why We are Adopting
We began trying to grow our family in 2021 and were blessed to become pregnant right away. Sadly, we lost our daughter to miscarriage. Our hearts were broken, and that loss marked the beginning of our infertility journey. Over the next two years, we faced many tests and procedures, eventually learning that Kayla has Stage 2 Endometriosis. Although this provided some answers, we still weren’t able to conceive. In 2024, God placed embryo adoption on our hearts. We matched with a family and adopted two embryos based on an open adoption agreement. Unfortunately, during our scheduled embryo transfer, we received devastating news that our adopted embryos hadn’t survived.
We continue to hold our three children in heaven close to our hearts, but we still long to become parents here on earth. Though we’ve faced loss and heartbreak, our faith has remained strong. Through prayer, reflection, and conversations with trusted mentors, we felt that God was clearly guiding us toward adoption. We are stepping forward in faith, trusting God to grow our family in His perfect timing and way.
We know that when God blesses us with a child through adoption, it will be one of the most joyful and long-awaited days of our lives. We can’t wait to share everyday moments together — playing in leaf piles, playing at the park, celebrating birthdays and milestones, and guiding them to know and love Jesus.
Our Faith and Church Family
We are a faith-filled family with a deep love for God. We both grew up in the church and have always had an understanding of the Christian faith, but it wasn’t until college that we each began to make our faith our own. Attending the same private Christian college strengthened our walk with the Lord, and marriage has deepened our understanding of why our faith matters so much.
Over the past seven years, we’ve faced many trials. Through it all, our faith has been our anchor. We honestly don’t know how we would have made it through without trusting God’s plan and resting in His promises. Even when life doesn’t make sense, we’ve found peace knowing that He brings beauty from pain and works all things together for good. His mercy and goodness are written all over our story.
We are active members of a nondenominational church that has become like family to us — a place filled with imperfect people pursuing Jesus together. This church family has been a wonderfully supportive place where we can connect with other believers who are also navigating life’s struggles.
Family Traditions
-We love family traditions and have already started making some of our own! Ethan grew up making gingerbread houses completely from scratch. They’d roll out the dough, cut and bake the pieces, then build one big gingerbread masterpiece. It’s a tradition we can’t wait to carry on with our own family one day!
-Every fall, Ethan and his brothers had “pumpkin gut battles.” After carving pumpkins, they’d take all the insides, the "guts", out into the yard and have a gut-throwing battle — flinging pumpkin seeds at each other. It's a messy tradition, but such a fun one!
-Kayla grew up baking cookies with her mom every year for Christmas. Her mom would bake all types of cookies, filling the house with delicious, sugary smells. Every year, we bake sugar cookies together — making the dough from scratch and cutting out cookies into fun shapes, then decorating them with bright icing. The uglier the cookie, the better the laugh!
-We’ve also started hosting a cozy Friendsgiving each year. We roast a turkey, bake a pie, and everyone brings a dish to share. It’s become one of our favorite nights of the year — and we can’t wait to share all these little traditions with our future children.
Our Plans for Childcare
Kayla works from home, and her flexible schedule allows her to easily accommodate a child’s needs. She is able to take frequent breaks throughout the day between tasks, projects, and meetings, and can plan more focused work time during naps or in the evenings when our child is sleeping. On days when she has important meetings or projects that require her full attention, Ethan’s mother is available to provide in-home childcare.
Although Ethan works outside the home, his landscaping business allows him the option to fully stay at home during the winter months. This would provide assistance to Kayla during her workdays and allow him more time to bond with our child.
In Closing
We want you to know that you will always have a special place in our hearts and in our family as the birth mother of our child. Through open adoption, we hope to build a lifelong connection with you—one that allows you to remain a meaningful part of your child’s story, if that’s your desire.
We look forward to a future filled with full arms, joyful hearts, laughter, adventure, and family traditions.
We have great respect for your decision and feel truly honored to be considered as you search for the right family for your child. When the time feels right, we would love the opportunity to connect and talk with you. You can reach us at any time by contacting Lifetime.
