Our Faith & Values | Jesus is the center of our faith, and we believe the Bible is God’s Word that points us to Him and teaches us how to live life well by His design. We work to align our life and values with what the Bible teaches and with the example Jesus has given to us in His own life on earth.

Our Pets | We brought our three rescue dogs home in 2014. First, we got Nika: 10 pounds of cream-colored terrier. She spends most of her day on our couch and loves belly rubs. Hank came next, followed soon by Drover (both named for the Hank the Cowdog children’s book characters). We were told Hank might be a Dutch Shepherd (brindle), and Drover is a Lab/Setter mix (white with big brown patches). Hank is athletic, playful, and affectionate, and he loves being with people. Drover is a big teddy bear who enjoys napping the day away in the sunshine or on the deck. The two are inseparable.

Our Ministry Life | Serving through ministry is our joy, our calling, and our privilege. While the youth and worship ministries are our main focus, we also occasionally help other adults navigate difficult situations and participate in other ministry opportunities, such as speaking at an event, painting faces for family fun day, or helping out in various ways at the nearby Bible camp. The people who make up our church are truly like family, and we see many of them throughout the week in addition to Sunday morning! Our church has a dynamic children’s program that children love to attend.
|
Our Musical Interest | Jon is largely self-taught and plays primarily by ear. He is a gifted vocalist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer. When needed, he can also fill in on keys. Over the years, he has learned how to lead teams of musicians in a way that produces both a quality sound and a camaraderie between members.
Sharayah is a classically trained pianist who took private lessons for thirteen years and majored in music during her first two years of college. She is a skilled sight-reader with a good handle on music theory, and she has also learned how to play in a more flexible style from the chord sheets that are often used in worship music.
Fun Fact: Jonathan played clarinet for a few years in middle school, and Sharayah played clarinet throughout her school years.

Our Life in the State of Nebraska | Rural Nebraska is very family-friendly, and our church and community are supportive of our adoption plans! Our small town is well maintained and offers a farmer’s market and several community-wide events that feature family-oriented activities. When we want more restaurants, attractions, and stores, we can easily make a short 30-60 minute trip to one of the bigger towns.
