Hello! We are Josh and Maddie, and we have been together for 5 years and have two beautiful daughters together. Adoption is something we have discussed since we started dating. We believe God has really opened some doors for us and recently has been working on our hearts. He has made it clear now is the time for us to adopt! We want you to know we have been praying for you and our future baby every day since we made the decision. We will honor any decision you make, and we will feel honored to be considered as your baby's adoptive parents.
About Us
We grew up going to the same church, but never really crossed paths until we both went on a mission trip to Jamaica. We both caught each other's eye and immediately hit it off. We spent the week serving others and growing a relationship together. A little while later we got engaged and then were married in 2020.
We are a fun-loving couple, always laughing and smiling. Our dates are often full of trying new restaurants or local coffee shops, and walks in the park. We often watch old tv shows or play board games or Nintendo Switch together after the kids go to bed.
We love planning our next vacation or weekend getaway with the family. We try to get away a couple times a year, even if it's just to Maddie's grandma's house up north near Lake Michigan for a weekend. We try to be very intentional to create special time and memories as a family regularly. Life is busy, but we make sure we take the time to enjoy the small stuff and remember the little things.
About Maddie
Josh says: Maddie is the heart of our home! She is an incredible wife and mother who puts our family's needs above her own. She is nurturing, hardworking, and very patient -- qualities that make her the perfect role model for our children. She is a stay-at-home mom who spends her days playing imaginative games with the kids, taking them on fun outings, teaching them new things, and always making our home feel welcoming and full of life.
Maddie loves to cook and bake. Whether it is making cakes, sourdough loaves, or something she found on the internet; there is nothing she isn't willing to try to make. It is always fun to come home from work and see what new creation her and the girls have attempted.
Maddie is known for always having a book with her. During her free time, she is often found cuddled up reading. She hopes to pass on this passion to our kids. We have several large bookshelves full of books for all ages that she has been collecting for the kids to read someday.
Maddie is an amazing wife and mom. Her encouragement, love, and thoughtfulness push me to be the father and husband I am called to be, and she can't wait to have another little one around to teach and include in the daily fun.
About Josh
Maddie says: Josh is kind, loyal, hard-working, and thoughtful. He is the most patient person I know. He truly is my best friend and the man I have prayed for since I was a little girl.
He is amazing at being intentional with his time with our girls. He makes sure to take each of them out regularly on special daddy-daughter dates to make sure he gets one-on-one time with them.
He is the most amazing provider. When we were dating, I told him that once we had children I want to be able to be a stay-at-home mom. He loved the idea and when we had our first daughter, he made it happen. He is so sacrificial.
He enjoys taking the kids out on nature walks and pointing out the birds, leaves, and insects to them. He wants our kids to be well rounded, so he teaches them the outdoor skills his dad taught him when he was young. He loves being outdoors; some of his favorite things to do are hunting and fishing with his dad and brothers.
Josh teaches our kids with patience and excitement. He hopes to teach them how to work hard and love harder. He wants to raise our children to be kind, compassionate, honest, and generous. He desires for all of our kids to be loyal, courageous, and respectful. He is the perfect example of what a man should be. I love that our children have such a strong example of a dad to look up to.
Our Family
Our family is so special to us! We have two daughters, Everlee and Brynlee, who are the biggest blessings in our lives. We thank God every day for entrusting us with them. Children truly are a gift from God. Watching them grow up and develop little personalities is so fun.
Everlee is our little genius--she is wise beyond her years. She is almost four years old and loves anything from princesses and tutus to dinosaurs. She has never met a stranger, and she loves everyone she meets.
Brynlee is our little goofball. She is almost two years old and takes so much joy in knowing she is the reason someone is laughing. We often find her doing silly things trying to make us laugh. Her favorite toys are her baby dolls. She loves hugs and snuggles.
Our extended family is the best village we could ask for. We are so blessed to live within thirty minutes of the majority of our family. We see several family members a couple times a week at church or just to hang out. Once a month we do Sunday dinner at Maddie's grandparents' house with all the aunts, uncles, and cousins. We celebrate all of the holidays with family, which often means the holiday is celebrated several times. Everyone was overjoyed to hear about our plans to adopt. Our village is already praying for our future baby and birth mom. This baby will fit right in and be so loved.
Our Home in Michigan
Our home is more than just a place we live--it is the heart of our family. Our goal with our home is to create a welcoming environment for everyone. You will often hear laughter around the house, whether it's just us or we are hosting family and friends. We have a large closet full of board games that we love to pull out when hosting. We have friends or family over several times a week for game nights, playdates, dinner, or reality tv night. Everyone knows we always have an open door.
We live in a suburb in Michigan. We built our home in 2022 with hopes and dreams of having a large family; we designed it with kids and hosting in mind. It has four bedrooms and a large open floor plan so we can always keep an eye on the little ones. We have a large playroom upstairs and a large playset in our backyard. Our neighborhood is very family friendly.
We live near several farmers markets that we love to visit on the weekends. We also live very close to several Metro Parks that we have an annual membership to, so you will often find us there during the week. We love to meet our friends weekly at some of the local beaches. We also live thirty minutes from the zoo, which we are passholders to, and we visit regularly when the weather is nice.
Our Promise
We promise to love your baby unconditionally. We promise to love your baby as if it were our own. We promise to welcome this baby with open hearts and arms. We will provide a stable home and a loving family for your child. We promise to provide a strong foundation built on Jesus. We will lead by example and be the best parents we can be. We promise to provide every opportunity for your baby to thrive.
We will always hold a special place for you in our hearts. We are committed to building a strong, healthy relationship with you and teaching your child about the special role you played in their life. We will always be very open with him or her about their adoption story. We will teach them of Christ's love and how adoption is a beautiful example of that.

More About Our Family
Plans for Childcare
Maddie will continue being a stay-at-home mom, being the sole caregiver of the new baby. It is her passion to stay home and give all her attention to nurturing and raising our kids. She loves to visit parks or libraries with the kids during the week. She also meets up with her mom friends' group at least once a week and they do a fun activity together.
Josh will receive twelve weeks of paternity leave from work for our adoption, so he will have plenty of time to bond with the new baby and adjust to our new lives.
Our Faith
Faith is the most important part of our lives. We are raising our kids to grow up to love the Lord. It is our greatest honor that we have been gifted with children, and it is our duty to love them and raise them as best we can.
We are very involved in our church. We both grew up going to church and our families still attend with us weekly. We run the children's class for first and second graders. Maddie helps in the nursery too, and we both fill in other classes when needed. We try to be as involved as we can and raise our children with a love for God and church.
Our Holiday Traditions
Traditions are so important! We value new and old traditions as a couple.
Some of our traditions include:
- Maddie makes a themed cake for nearly every holiday.
- Josh brings home flowers and chocolate for all the girls on Valentines Day.
- We spend Fourth of July at Maddie's grandparents' house. We swim in the pool, grill all the food, and watch fireworks to end the night.
- The week before Christmas we do a PJ Day with Maddie's family. Maddie's mom buys everyone pajamas, and we wear them all day while we watch movies, play games, and eat junk food.
- We read the Christmas Story (Luke 2) before we open presents on Christmas.
- We get pictures taken with Santa.
- Thanksgiving is always spent at Maddie's grandma's house in the country. We spend the week watching movies, playing games, laughing, talking, and eating.
- For Easter we hide eggs and baskets and dye eggs.
Why We Are Adopting
For us, the decision to adopt was not one we took lightly. We spent countless hours in prayer. We did a ton of research, listened to podcasts, talked to people we knew who had adopted, and prayed some more. Adoption was a topic we discussed several times both while we dated and since we have been married. We believe adoption has been put on our hearts for a reason. Recently it has been made very clear to us that now is the time for us to pursue this avenue. We have big hearts and such a loving and welcoming family. We know our future baby will fit right in and thrive. We cannot wait to meet the little one God has for us.
In Closing
We thank you so much for taking the time to consider and learn more about us. We would love the opportunity to learn more about you. We are so excited for the opportunity to expand our family and love another baby. We believe we are all adopted into God's family through salvation and we are honored that we get to be an example of that here on earth.
We would love an opportunity to talk more about an open adoption with you.
Sincerely,
Josh and Maddie
