Howdy! Larry and Alyssa here! We are a young, active couple who are very excited to be first time parents. It has always been a dream of ours to adopt. We look forward to being able to share our lives with you and your child. As an active couple we enjoy many activities, such as going to the gym, exploring the outdoors, and hanging out with friends and family. We are more than happy with sending pictures, letters, and having occasional visits with you. Our faith has brought us this opportunity, and we cannot wait to share this journey with you.

Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your little one! God Bless!

Our Journey

We met in college through mutual friends and have been together for 10 years and married for 5. Our relationship has always been one built on love and understanding.

We both went into education--Alyssa as an elementary Special Education teacher and Larry as an Engineering teacher and coach. We have found our married and professional life to be fulfilling and impactful. However, we are ready to take the next step in life and begin our adoption journey. Our faith and beliefs have put us in the mindset to love all of God's children as our own. We are thankful for the opportunity to share our love and life with whoever God has planned for us. We always dreamed of adopting, and now—because of infertility—it’s the path we are choosing to build our family. Our hearts are ready to give a child a safe, loving, and supportive home filled with unconditional love.

We love to stay active and be around loved ones. We are blessed to have some of the most amazing people around us. They are a great support system and have had our backs, no matter what, for years.

We love:

  • Working out together

  • Playing games (board games, card games, puzzles, and video games)

  • Spending time with friends and family

  • Watching and cheering on our favorite sports teams

Meet Larry (According to Alyssa)

Larry is loyal, honest, and a hard worker who has a huge heart. One thing that I love most about Larry is that there isn't anyone he wouldn't help. He has always been a go-getter that strives to make things better. He can problem solve almost anything. Larry is my rock and the person that I go to when it's been a rough day.

Larry brings fun to our relationship. He is definitely the extrovert of the two of us and is the spontaneous one; I love this about him! There is never a dull moment around Larry. He knows how to walk into a room and make everyone laugh. When we are hanging out with our friends he enjoys being silly and playing with their kids, whether that's throwing the football with them or telling jokes. He will help our children to be their best and make a great dad!

Larry loves....

  • Being active--working out at the gym & taking a walk/hike

  • Golfing!

  • Cooking--he loves to grill

  • Playing video games

Meet Alyssa (According to Larry)

Alyssa is loving, playful, and the best woman I've ever known. She loves her job as a Special Education teacher and is always willing to go the extra mile to help her students. Alyssa has always known what she wanted in life and had a plan for how to achieve it. She keeps me grounded. She cares deeply for everyone in her life and is always willing to help friends and family. She takes care of and drives our friends' kids to school without a second thought. If I ever need anything, she's the one I will always call first.

Alyssa brings stability to our family. She always has an even head and rarely ever panics. Alyssa is also the most supportive person I've ever met; she loves supporting her family and friends. I have no doubt she will be an amazing mother and put everything she has into raising our child to be the best and most respectful person.

Alyssa loves...

  • Being active--walking our dog, hiking, going to the gym with friends

  • Cooking--she always has new healthy recipes she wants us to make

  • Relaxing and watching sports

  • Puzzles, coloring, cross stitching, and her daily Sudoku

About Our Family

Our entire family lives in Texas, all within a few hours. We like to get together regularly for holidays, birthdays, and sometimes on random weekends just to hang out. Both sets of our parents have small ranches/farms that we enjoy going to and helping out around the property, whether it's fixing fences, clearing brush, or running cattle. We were both raised in the country, and it is enjoyable to escape the suburbs and go back to that slower, quiet lifestyle every now and then.

We both come from somewhat smaller families; we each only have one sister. However, since moving to our current home we have expanded our “family” by a lot. We have made friends that are as close as our actual family. These friends are who we call our village because we know if there is ever something that we need, we can call them and they will be there to help. From the beginning of our adoption journey, they have all been extremely supportive and excited for us.

Our Home in Texas

We live in a bigger city with many attractions to enjoy. Our neighborhood has a park with a large grassy area that many families enjoy. We have sidewalks on all streets where we see kids and adults taking a walk or riding on their bikes and scooters. We enjoy going to a local shopping area where there are stores, restaurants, and a green space that families play in. They have concerts and farmers' markets there on the weekends too.

Our house is a single story, four-bedroom home with a yard that is perfect for a play place or area to run around in. Our kitchen opens up to the living room where you can often catch us watching a sports channel while cooking up a meal. We love to meal prep together. We have a room that we have begun to set up as a nursery. It is perfect for a boy or girl that we are hoping to add to our family.

From our hearts…

We are so excited to get to be on this journey of life! If we are the right adoptive family for you, we want you to know that we will care for your child with our whole hearts and provide them with any opportunity that we can.

We believe that it is important for our child to know their life story. If you would like an open adoption, we are happy to send pictures and emails or texts. We would be happy to discuss future visits too.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

With love,

Larry and Alyssa

Family Traditions

Our families mean a lot to us! We love to bring them all together any chance we get. For Thanksgiving we all meet up at Larry's parents' house to celebrate. Christmas is spent divided, where we celebrate with Larry's family on Christmas Eve and Alyssa's family on Christmas day; but once we have a little one in the family, we hope to host everyone together at our house. On Easter we always go to church with Alyssa's family and then go out for lunch. We try to find time to celebrate birthdays together and try to see each other at least once a month for dinner.

Our Animals

We have two animals, a dog and cat, that we cherish dearly! We rescued both animals from the local animal shelter.

Abe is our dog. He is the most gentle and loving dog. Larry got him in college not long after we met and he has been through every step of our relationship. Abe loves to make new friends wherever he goes, whether it's the local neighborhood kids on a walk or any animal on Alyssa's family's farm. He is truly the best snuggle buddy!

Annie is our cat. We like to call her our wild child. She loves to lay around and do nothing, unless it's time for her random zoomies around the house. Annie loves getting attention any way she can. She likes to snuggle. She's never one to miss a meal and known as our little escape artist.

Our Plans for Childcare

Since we are both educators we will be able to spend breaks and summers with our future child. During the school year while we are in school, we plan to send our child to daycare. Growing up, we both went to daycare and feel that it was a great thing for us. Daycare is something that is important to us because as educators we see future benefits of social and educational interactions. Also, with family not being far we know that they will come and help at the drop of a hat if needed. Some of our friends have older kids that are already begging and excited to babysit for us.

In Closing

We are excited to work with you during this entire process. It has always been a dream of ours to adopt. From the day that we got engaged we have wanted to have a biological child and adopt another. However, God has had different plans for our family as far as having our own. This has been difficult at times but has pushed us to begin the adoption process with our full heart. We cannot wait to share our lives with our future child, no matter who they may be, and to help and support you along the way. They will also be the first grandchild on both sides of our families, so the grandparents and aunts can't wait to spoil them. We are huge believers in always doing your best no matter what, and plan on instilling these values in our child in all aspects of life, whether that be education, faith, or wherever their passions lie. Our main priority is that they know they will always be enough no matter what life has in store for them. Our child will always be loved and cared for by many.
