Hello! We are excited to be on this journey to become first time parents through adoption. We are an active couple that enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, and enjoying marshmallows by the fire. We value our faith and are active members in our church community. We can't wait to share in our traditions and lifestyle with a little one. We look forward to getting to know you and are open to establishing an easy-going relationship, if you wish.

About Us

We have been married for 9 years and enjoy everything life has to offer. Living in the Rocky Mountains and being so close to Yellowstone gives us plenty of opportunity to enjoy all that nature has to offer. We can often be found on hiking trails, watching a hockey game, or cooking up a nice roast on a Sunday. We are big foodies and love exploring and trying new things when we travel.

A few years ago, we found that we were unable to have children of our own and began thinking about adoption. After our big move out West and feeling like we have settled down, we are now ready to start our family. We are excited to share our lives and the beauty that is all around us with a little one. We are blessed to know that we are being led in this direction in life. There are many fun memories on the horizon!

My Wife, Elyse

Stephen says: Elyse is everything I could have ever wanted in a wife, and so much more. She's my adventure buddy who I love to go anywhere and do anything with. She's incredibly smart, driven, conscientious, caring, funny, and devout. Steadfast in her beliefs, she is loyal and unafraid to stand up for what she thinks is right. Everyone loves hanging out with Elyse because her goofiness and laughter are contagious. Elyse is mature beyond her age and has always been a leader and caretaker when people are in need. Some of her favorite activities include running 5k's, working on DIY craft projects, and gardening.

Elyse's current job is a Landscape Architect/Project Manager. She drafts landscape/hardscape plans for anything from a single residence to large-scale corporate offices or sports fields. However, she'll be stepping away from her job to be a stay-at-home mom. She strongly believes in the necessity of a dedicated mom for raising children. She's going to be an excellent mom who can be both silly and have a great time, while teaching our child valuable morals and life lessons. While the lifestyle change will be different, I have full faith Elyse will be up to the challenge of parenting since she has no issues caring for her nieces and nephews whenever necessary.

My Husband, Stephen

Elyse says: Beyond being my best friend, Stephen is a strong leader, loyal, and a trustworthy husband. He is always going out of his way to care for others and to make people smile. 'Dad jokes' are his thing and he's always on the hunt for the best ones out there. He enjoys setting up game nights with our nieces and nephews, and when he can, he will join them on the ice rink. Hockey is his favorite sport so a day he can get on ice with gloves and a stick is a good day. Stephen is also an excellent problem solver. He is always figuring out creative solutions to problems and also has a knack for creating amazing AI art.

Stephen works from home as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (IT guy). His workplace has some flexibility that will allow him to help me with our child during the day if needed. Having a presence at home is a value we both strongly agree in. He is no doubt going to be a great father. I think he is already excited about the idea of flipping chocolate chip pancakes for a little one on a Saturday morning or going sledding with them at the park.

Our Family

Both of us are very close to our family. While most of our relatives reside in New England, we make at least one trip a year to see them. Since our home is a bit of a destination spot, many family and friends come to visit us. As a tight-knit family, there are many phone calls, texts and FaceTime sessions. Elyse's parents enjoy coming out at least once or twice a year to join us for the 4th of July or Thanksgiving.

Some traditions that we have as a family include:

  • Enjoying Elyse's mom's Christmas morning coffee cake breakfast

  • Visiting Stephen's parents beach cottage in Maine

  • Hiking up a hill in town to enjoy a 360 view of the fireworks on the 4th of July

Our extended family cannot wait to share in our holiday traditions (like Yankee Swap on Christmas Eve) with our child.

Our Home in Montana

We live in the heart of the Rocky Mountains with Yellowstone only about 40 minutes away. Our home is situated in a neighborhood full of young families. We have a park just down the street that has a massive hill in the middle-perfect for sledding! Our house sits on about 1/2 acre so there is plenty of space to play. There are 3 bedrooms and a large bonus room above the garage. The bonus room makes for a perfect play area. All the bedrooms are on the first floor which makes it easy to monitor a baby. We are planning on building a large veggie garden on our property so we can begin growing some of our own food. The front of our home faces a large mountain range that we are blessed to see every day. Shops, restaurants, medical facilities and amenities are close by since we are only a 15-minute drive to one of the larger cities in the state. There are two happy cats who enjoy our home as well.

Our Promise

Thank you for considering us as potential adoptive parents for your child. We promise to raise them with strong morals, guide them to be a loving human being, and to support them in their endeavors. We will always be there for them to provide a helping hand and to encourage their creativity. As parents, we will prompt them to try new things and to be bold!

We are open to an easy-going relationship with you, if you wish. We would love to share photos and updates with you as the little one grows. As parents, we wish to honor our child's background and are open to incorporating new traditions into our family. It's important to us that our child knows how we came together through adoption and how much you mean to us.

More About Our Family

Our Special Interests

We love playing video games with our family and friends. It's another great way for us to stay connected with everyone while having a good time. Elyse enjoys taking quiet time to read. Stephen enjoys working on his car and making sleek or fun upgrades to it. He is currently a moderator on a car forum and previously ran a car club.

Top 3 Thoughts on Parenting

1) We both find it to be important to 'go back to our roots'. Elyse has been drying herbs, making homemade bread, and growing veggies in an effort to be reliant on the land. We see farming and older practices fading out and would like to instill into our child the knowledge of being self-sufficient. Early on, we plan to make and can much of our own baby food.

2) Faith plays a huge role in our life, and we plan to pass this down to our child as well. We have found such strength in faith that has gotten us through the harder times and has brightened us in the happiest of times. To us, God plays the biggest role in everything--including this adoption journey.

3) "Never given, always earned." This is a quote that we live by that strengthens our day-to-day lives. This quote means more than just working hard. It touches on every aspect of life and helps to form a solid foundation for anything you might be striving for. We hope to instill strong goals and positive thinking with our child.
