Hello! We are Steven and Heather and we live in beautiful south central Texas. We are a loving, kind, supportive couple who enjoy traveling, going on outdoor excursions with our dogs, movie nights, and spending quality time with our family and friends. We can't wait to become first-time parents through the gift of adoption and share our unconditional love and all that we have with your child. We look forward to meeting you and providing you with any encouragement, kindness, love and support you may need. We would love to hear about your hopes and dreams for your child.

About Us

Our story begins online, where we laughed nearly non-stop and quickly found that we had a lot in common. We learned that we had both left the Pacific Northwest for warmer, sunnier weather in Texas that led to us meeting. We have been married for 6 amazing years!

As a couple, our life together is cozy, quaint, pleasant, and inviting; a relaxed atmosphere known as gezellig in Heather's Dutch culture. When we venture away from home, we enjoy traveling, especially to our home states of Idaho and Colorado, and exploring our new home of Texas. We love to go on outdoor adventures with our dogs Aisa and Sadie, attend concerts and festivals, watch movies, and entertain family and friends at our home. Ultimately, spending quality time together is a priority.

After experiencing fertility issues, we felt called to grow our family through adoption.  We are excited to lavish our love, guidance, and direction upon our child. We can't wait to share our love for the outdoors, music, movies and sports. We are eager to watch them grow and thrive in a safe and nurturing home, celebrate precious milestones, and see and experience life through their eyes.

About Steven

According to Heather: Steven is truly a loving, caring, and thoughtful man. He is patient and family-centered, sensitive and kind-hearted. Steven is dedicated to taking care of our family and home. He is my perfect partner because I know I can count on him for helping our lives run smoothly and to be present when needed. During his free time, Steven enjoys playing tennis and video games, watching movies, solving sudoku puzzles, and taking our dogs on walks. Steven is very close to his father and brother. There is not a day that goes by where they do not talk on the phone or game with each other.

Steven will be a wonderful loving father to your child! He is excited to share his love for life, music and movies. He is looking forward to reading bedtime stories, going to the park, playing games, and teaching them how to play tennis.

About Heather

According to Steven: Heather is one of the most loving, kind, and hard-working people I know. She enjoys her job as a teacher and coach, but it is her personal life at our home that she truly cherishes. Heather enjoys spending her free time reading, practicing self-care, spending time outdoors, and traveling to visit family and friends.

She is wonderful with kids and loves spending time with our niece and nephews, and enjoys playing catch, reading to them, baking cookies, and playing at our pool. She is excited to teach our child to love and follow God, the joys of reading, how to bake, grow a garden, and play volleyball and lacrosse.

 

 

 

 

Our Family

We are both blessed to come from loving, supportive families. Heather is very close to her mother and siblings. They speak frequently and Heather recently helped her brother buy a new home and her mom and step-father as they built their new home in Texas. She has five nephews and a niece who love coming for visits! While her family lives from coast to coast, they enjoy vacationing together, visiting with extended family around the country, and celebrating the holidays.

Steven’s family is a loving, close-knit family who enjoys spending time together. Steven’s parents have been married for 45 years and are an amazing example of patience, unconditional love, and compromise. Steven is close to his brother and they talk daily. We visit them as often as possible and enjoy spending our summers and holidays in Idaho at the family's mountain condo.

Our Home in Texas

Our family home is a calm and peaceful 3-bedroom home in a quiet, gated community with a swimming pool, playground, and highly rated K-12 schools. Our neighbors are friendly and family-oriented, with many children who love to play outside with each other. We are looking forward to attending community gatherings such as movies in the park, game nights, decorating contests, and the Halloween festival and 4th of July parade with our little one. We have a fenced-in yard that is perfect for playing games and tossing a ball around. We have two bedrooms ready to be decorated, furnished, and filled with toys for our child or children.  We are a short drive to three major cities, numerous lakes and rivers, and the lovely gulf coast.

Our Promise

We promise that your child will be raised in a supportive home filled with love, kindness, compassion, and understanding. We will share with your child their story and will always speak of you with respect and love. Your child will receive encouragement and every opportunity to pursue all their hopes and dreams. They will be raised in a loving Christian home where we will celebrate birthdays, holidays, and accomplishments, go on family adventures, eat dinner as a family, attend Sunday services and grow as a family in Christ.
